At the end of April, Joe and I had the joy of spending the afternoon with Chris and Tif in downtown Mansfield to shoot some photos. It was chilly for a spring day, but we were thankful we finally caught a break from the rain and snow!
We’re very much looking forward to shooting their wedding this summer!

Have you been one of those asking this very question? I sheepishly look at our web site and tell Joseph, “Dude, we haven’t posted anything on our blog since May.”
That, my friends, is going to change.
The lack of posts has nothing to do with a lack of activity. We’ve actually been rather busy. I’ve shot some senior portraits, we’ve shot several weddings, I’ve done some photo-journalism for Waiting For Next Year and the Clear Fork High School girls soccer team, and we exhibited at a bridal show in Mansfield!
In other news, Joseph now works the same day job as I do, so we can schedule more photography-related activities reliably!
In the coming weeks, we’ll be getting you all caught up on what we’ve been up to. And we hope you let us know what you’re up to as well! Enjoy a few images in the meantime!

I had the wonderful opportunity last weekend to take part in two different photography sessions involving children. I’ve talked to different photographers who adamantly state they don’t do well with children when it comes to photography, which has led me to be nervous when faced with the opportunity…nervous because some of these photographers are ones who are seasoned veterans and ones I look up to.
So, I decided I was going to accept the opportunities and give it all I had. Here are some examples:
Carter is a 3-year-old whose family met me in Mansfield to do some shooting. We got to play around at Kingwood Center for about 40 minutes.
I got to meet Anna, Adrik and their family at their home, which allowed the kids to be comfortable in their own environment.
Once we got her little brother involved, things got real fun!
I love to shoot weddings, but I’m also looking forward to doing more of these shots.

We had an opportunity a few weeks ago to do some test shots with some new equipment we got. I’m very pleased with the results.
Our friend, Cindy, indulged us by modeling for us. Another friend, Gwen, came along for the ride and assisted us with a reflector.
All of these shots were done between about 10:45pm and 1:00am in downtown Mansfield. I really don’t suggest doing that on a regular basis.
